DASH for the Stash
Money Smart Week Iowa, April 5-12

This scavenger-hunt style contest will require participants to find 4 posters at the library, read the information, access a quiz question and choose an answer.  The posters cover topics of importance to savers and investors - such as understanding investment fees, finding financial advisors, avoiding fraud and learning about investment products.  The statewide winner will be awarded $1000 to open or add to a retirement investment account, thanks to the MSW partner, the Investor Protection Trust.  The easiest way to play DASH for the Stash is to use a smart phone or mobile device to scan each poster's QR code, but you can also use a computer.

Next Book: Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel

Homebound Delivery Service

Starting in the month of October 2010, the Shenandoah Public Library will offer homebound delivery of library materials to patrons in Shenandoah city limits who can't get to the library because of temporary hardship due to major illness, an ongoing need due to physical handicap, long-term illness, or homebound seniors.  You will receive personalized visits, no overdue fines, longer lending periods (8 weeks), and delivery right to your front door.  Delivery will be made on the 1st and/or 3rd Friday of the month, and participants will need to call in their requests by 5pm on the Wednesday prior to delivery.  Librarians will work with you to select books that are to your taste.  Call Carrie or Liz at the library for more information or to sign up! 712-246-2315
