Overdrive Downloadable Audiobooks & eBooks (WILBOR)

Overdrive Downloadable Audiobooks - Through the library's participation in the WILBOR project, we are joining with other Iowa libraries to offer audiobooks downloadable to your MP3 player.  Visit the website by clicking on the image above, or stop by the library for more information.

Overdrive Downloadable eBooks - The same project that has brought you great downloadable audiobooks also brings you e-books!  Titles check out for 2 weeks, but can be returned early.  For most e-readers, you'll need to download Adobe Digital Editions to manage your check-outs.  You can find a variety of handouts related to WILBOR here from the Iowa Library Services.

OneClickdigital Audiobooks and eBooks - Download audiobooks and eBooks to your PC, Android or Apple device.  Simply click on the image above to visit the site, set up an account, and get started downloading.  The checkout limits are the same as for WILBOR: 3 items at a time check out for 2 weeks.  Contact the library with any questions.

Zinio Downloadable Magazines -  Download issues of selected magazine titles to your computer or mobile device.  Simply sign up for an account, and then choose the magazines you want to download.  The issue will stay on your device until you remove it.  If you would like step by step instructions on how to create your Zinio account, click here to download the User Guide.

LearningExpress Library Test Preparation + Job & Career Skills

LearningExpress Library Test Preparation + Job & Career Skills - The Shenandoah Public Library is excited to be able to offer our patrons this amazing online resource. LearningExpress Library contains practice tests and courses to help you pass many exams, including the GED, ACT, ASVAB, Nursing Entrance exam, CDL test, Civil Service exams and many others. Spanish speakers can use GED resources, US Citizenship resources, and test prep for the TOEFL test. There are also courses on conducting a job search, writing resumes, interviewing and other career building skills, like computer skills. There are even electronic copies of popular test preparation books that you can read online.

To sign up: Click on the image above to sign up for your free account today. For your first time, click on the new user button. Enter your library barcode number as the username, and then choose your own password. Then find the test or course you need, add it to "my center" where it will be available each time you sign on, and then click to get started. Next time you log in, use the returning member login. AtoZ The USA      &      AtoZ World Culture
           

AtoZ the USA and AtoZ World Culture - The latest additions to our online library are two great databases that make you better acquainted with your country and your world.  AtoZ the USA is a web-based encyclopedia with in-depth coverage of all 50 states, including downloadable images for each.  AtoZ World Culture puts relevant culture content on 175 countries at your fingertips, including religion, women in culture, business culture, stereotypes and more.  Both resources are great for school projects or travel preparation.  Simply sign in with your library card number and you've got a passport to hundreds of informative articles.


Tumblebooks are a service the Shenandoah Public Library subscribes to for our kids!  These online books will read aloud to kids, entertain them, and let them read at their own pace.  For questions, contact Liz Trippler at 712-246-2624.

The Shenandoah Public Library is pleased to provide you with EBSCOhost.  EBSCOhost provides free access for Iowa residents to a full-text online reference database of reliable sources.  This tool allows users to search full text magazines, newspapers, reference tools and photographs.  EBSCOhost is the best way for people of all ages to do research because it's fast and easy and you will be able to search from the library or from home.
Access to EBSCOhost is made possible through a partnership between the State Library of Iowa and Iowa 's Area Education Agencies.  To find out how to use
